CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
Conflict is an integral part of human experience. As a universal phenomenon, it reflects in multiple ways among individuals, groups, societies, nation-states and political entities at several global and local levels. These glocal conflicts occur as direct consequences of dislocations of inter/intra-national peace processes or indirect outcomes of (inter)national military or ideological clashes. They present manifestations with varying forms of impacts on human relationships and existence in family life, everyday interactions, religion, culture, economy, health and politics. Social relationship severance instantiates a relatively mild impact, but terrorism, diplomatic strains, inter-nation wars and religious crisis represent huge, sometimes, immeasurable impacts with the tendency to destroy millions of lives. One way of conceptualising the glocal conflict phenomenon is to see it in relation to verbal or non-verbal aggressions, which often spur conflict and damage social identities, with the great potential of undermining national security, social cohesion and sustainable development.
Although extensively diverse scholarship has addressed glocal conflict, its situation-bound nature defines it as a pragmatic affair, and consequently places on it, for the best research and socio-political outcomes, contextual approaches.
This conference provides a platform for scholars, researchers, students and other professionals across the world from all disciplinary orientations to engage the phenomenon of glocal conflict, in conjunction with (non)verbal aggression through a systematic utilisation of broad pragmatic approaches. The ultimate goal is not only to attract a pile of academic materials for presentations at the conference and publications in academic outlets; it is also, and more importantly, to seek a medium for sustainable pragmatic solutions to global and local conflicts.
Abstracts/proposals are, therefore, invited for lectures, posters and panels on the following sub-themes:
